Bye Bye Poems!

Creative writing poetry is done so now I'm at a loss for the use of my blog. It has been officially voted on and decided that I was much more funny and creative this summer. The winter does shit for my personality! I start thinking jokes like "what do you get when two giraffes run into each other?" are the funniest things in the world. (a girrafic jam if you were curious!) Atleast in the summer I have a much higher standard. I only laugh at jokes that are of as high quality as "two peanuts were walking down the street and one was a salted."

I made new year's resolutions along with every other person on the planet twelve days ago. I also broke them approximately eleven and a half days ago. I really tried to be realistic, too.
  • Cure Cancer.
  • Find World Peace.
  • Eliminate World Hunger.

I guess next year I'll just vow to work out like every other joe at the 24-hour fitness on January 1st. But, for a whole year I'll just relax!

Elkhorn Woods

The trees rise up and appear as surprising as
mermaids as they emerge from sea to meet the ship boat
captain's gaze. We link arms as we embark on our midnight
journey through leafy giants that corner us under a
cloak of vivid constellations. We seek comfort from
the moon as the trees whisper sweet nothings, keeping secrets,
that leaves the hair on our necks stand at attention as you
grip me tighter and throw your head back almost in
laughter but catch yourself staring at the darkness of the sky
scattered with bright collisions that light our faces as we wander
and find our own way along the guided path set before us.
The breeze through the rattling leaves provides background music
for the gothic setting of a black and white forest as we find a
clearing up ahead with benches made pefectly for two
as we sit and watch the highway lights drown in darkness
in the distance.

Wide Open Spaces

surround me as I run
wishing to fly,
like the angels about me,
searching for the feeling that
only the wind can give me,
I get down on my knees and pray,
for only what the wind can give me.

new poem, an inanimate object that you love

Quilt

I came together stitch by stitch,

pink and green flowers,

making me tickle and itch.

The hands that held me,

gave me away,

tied up in a package dawned with a bow,

untied, lifted, and held tight,

to a little girl who squealed with delight.

Worn and torn for years to come,

ripped and soiled, hugged and loved.

Like a story, passed along,

giggles and laughter,

held by little girls filled with song.

I layed across beds,

warding off monsters,

over forty years old and falling apart,

never thrown away—

folded and creased, laying in the closet

waiting to hear that song again.

Lying Eyes

I say good-bye to you and mean

it again and again yet here

you are with your green

eyes showing no fear

laughing with your head

tipped to the side and your eyes

closed, your heart as warm as bed

but overwhelmed with all the lies

told to keep my hand in yours,

my body curved into your fold

but my heart not allowed to pour

out and just instead left cold.

The rain falls as I grasp tight,

one last time, giving up fight.

Harvey Dent AKA love of my life

Best Friends Forever

We met in early May,

You caught my eye with a gaping mouth and

A little wiggle.

The tanks survival rate was extremely low,

We were both a little shaky with nerves.

I was hesitant for falling for you,

You, with the Buddha at the bottom-

If you’re Catholic, let me know,

And I’ll get you a cross instead.

You didn’t appear to be a huge batman fan,

But you enjoyed the humor of the name.

Split down the middle,

Half orange and half white,

Two faced, Harvey Dent.

You swim to the surface for a quick hello,

We debate whether they make

Best friend necklaces suitable for the two of us.

For now we stick

With late night tv in the living room.

And fish face competitions,

I’ll get you next time.

thinking about lately...

so i have this fish, harvey dent (HDTV) and i've caught myself wondering everytime i look in his cute little tank what he thinks about or if his attention span really is approximately 2 seconds so he really does love his tank that much.  dr. dolittle had the most amazing power of all time.
